2025 Spring Information Meetings
Schedule
For our 2025 plans, we used resident feedback from our Monongalia County Solid Waste Authority 2024 Public Opinion Survey Results Reports. We asked Monongalia County residents for feedback about reduce waste efforts and other local efforts to reduce waste going to the landfill. Thirty-two percent said they would be interested in attending a virtual meeting to learn about various topics.
Topics residents were interested in learning more about were disposing of hard to dispose of items (52%), community general recycling (37%), recycling hard to recycle items (36%), household hazardous waste (31%) and e-cycling (22%).
The kind of information residents were interested in were where to dispose of hard to dispose of items (54%), where to recycle hard to recycle items (49%), how to reduce waste going to the landfill (34%) and how to recycle properly to reduce contamination (32%).
In addition, 89% of residents surveyed said it is important that their household reduce waste going to the landfill. It is with this feedback from Monongalia County residents that we put together a schedule of guest speakers to inform residents and provide another option to convey reduce waste tips.
We will update the schedule as we confirm guest speakers. Subscribe to our e-newsletter for updates.
